WestOf60 Outing 12 August 2015
On Wednesday 12 August, 27 members of the West of 60 group travelled to nearby St. Albert for a tour led by long-time resident Jackie Selles. We toured a botanic park, a grain elevator, the Father Lacombe chapel, enjoyed a Ukrainian lunch, and watched Willie Renema making a baptismal bowl.
Big Valley Train Tour
On 9 July, 54 members and guests of the West of 60 group travelled by coach to Stettler where they boarded the Alberta Prairie train for a 2-hour ride to Big Valley. It was quite an adventure as the train was robbed by bandits along the way! In Big Valley we enjoyed a roast beef dinner and strolled through the old time town. A relaxing train ride back to Stettler was narrated by the sheriff.
