Accountability:
This position is accountable to the Lead Pastor for day-to-day activities, and to Council Executive.
Position Summary:
Administrative support for the church staff and committees. This position oversees and coordinates administrative functions of West End CRC.
Characteristic Duties:
i. Book the various church facilities and coordinates church functions in accordance with established policies.
ii. Order materials and supplies as required.
iii. Handle reception duties, including receiving visitors, mail and telephone calls.
iv. Prepare the weekly church bulletin, under supervision of the editor (Lead Pastor).
v. Coordinate access to the church membership database system and ensure all membership data is entered into the system.
vi. Ensure that West End CRC’s policy for church database access is maintained.
vii. Prepare required reports from membership database.
viii. Prepare and distributes, as required, denominational materials and documents.
ix. Maintain an electronic file of agendas, minutes, reports, policy handbook and other documents for council and standing committees.
x. Attend council and council executive meetings to record minutes.
xi. Prepare schedules for elders “duties of service” and sends email reminders, supervised by Clerk of Council.
xii. Prepare and update council membership lists, including retirement schedules and Fellowship Group lists, supervised by Clerk of Council.
xiii. Prepare schedule for communion service by council and sends email reminders, supervised by Clerk of Council.
xiv. Assist pastoral staff with their administrative responsibilities as required.
xv. Assist the Media Coordinator as needed.
xvi. Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the website.
xvii. Other duties as required.
Committee Involvement:
i. Council and executive meetings.
ii. Staff meetings.
Qualifications:
i. Demonstrated Christian commitment.
ii. Computer literacy and familiarity with database and word processing and calendar programs.
iii. Familiarity with website maintenance is an asset.
iv. Ability to adapt to diverse working environment, ability to work with minimal supervision.
v. Friendly personality with good customer service skills.
Number of hours per week: up to 30 hours.
Compensation: Starting wage: $23-$25/hour
