The Judicial Code Committee of the Christian Reformed Church deals with issues of conflict, especially between members and councils or denominational committees or other official bodies. Our denomination’s Nominating Services Committee is seeking nominees to serve on this Judicial Code Committee with the following qualifications and in the following timeframe:
- Person trained in law to fill an immediate vacancy—to be appointed by the Council of Delegates in the interim of synod. This person would complete a first term ending June 30, 2021, and be eligible for appointment to a subsequent three-year term.
- Ordained minister of the Word to be appointed by Synod 2021 to a first term of three years, beginning services on July 1, 2021, and eligible for reappointment to a second term.
- Non ordained person with no legal training to be appointed by Synod 2021 to a first term of three years, beginning services on July 1, 2021, and eligible for reappointment to a second term.
The Nominating Services Committee asks that, where possible, you consider nominations of persons who reflect the ethnic and gender diversity of the Christian Reformed Church.
