On 8 March 2014 the WECRC Diaconate treated the church’s seniors to lunch, entertainment, and dessert during their annual Senior Social. Lunch consisted of soup and old-time favourites of raisin buns and “Dutch cheese” (Gouda) with some fruit to make it healthy. Entertainment afterwards was provided by the Global Voices Choir who sang favorites from different languages including Dutch, which is part of WECRC’s heritage. Dessert was pastry treats made by Dutch Delicious. The afternoon was enjoyed by all including the WECRC deacons, who look forward to organizing the event every year.
