Sunday Mornings at 10 am

Worship Service

We’d love to have you join us!

At the beginning of the service a member of the pastoral staff or a member of a team of liturgists welcomes all those present. The service then begins with a song, a call to worship, and God’s welcoming greeting. This is followed by a prayer to God for forgiveness of our sins and failures and a re-commitment to live God’s way in the world, one or more Bible readings, a sermon, a prayer for the needs of the congregation and the world, and the receipt of offerings for church ministry programs or other causes. If you are a visitor and wish to participate by contributing to the offering you are certainly free to do so. Your presence in our service, however, is a more than sufficient gift to us.

About 20 minutes into the service, just before the sermon, all children age 3 to grade 3 are invited to the front for the children’s blessing by the congregation. These children then will be dismissed to go to Faith Walk classes (Sunday School)  elsewhere in the building. Your children are heartily invited to attend. See the bulletin and listen to the liturgist for specifics.

Pastor Henry Kranenburg does most of the preaching but other members of the pastoral staff also preach from time to time. The service always includes a good deal of congregational singing, led by pipe organ or piano or by one of several instrumental and vocal music teams. The songs of worship consist of both contemporary Christian songs and more traditional hymns.

At the end of the service the pastor sends the people into the world with God’s blessing and with the challenge to go and serve God and community.

After the service, everyone is invited to stay for refreshments in the fellowship hall. It is usually a noisy and happy place.

If you are a first-time visitor, please make your way to the visitors’ table near the door where you first entered the sanctuary. We look forward to an opportunity to meet you.
